TNMP Crews Battled Wind and Lightning to Restore Power to Lewisville Customers (FORT WORTH, Texas) – Nearly 100 TNMP crew members and contract employees worked to restore power to 11,000 Lewisville customers last week after storms caused widespread outages. Restoration efforts began Wednesday, June 10, as soon as the first line of storms that included a tornado rolled through the area, but were temporarily halted overnight Thursday to allow crews to get much needed rest after more than 40 hours of nonstop work. Work resumed Friday at 6 a.m. hampered by more dangerous wind and lightning. Power was fully restored to all customers by Friday afternoon. TNMP Lewisville Operations Director Dan Nelson acknowledged that long hours, continued bad weather and the sheer size of the outage posed a challenge. “I thank our customers for their patience as we worked to restore power while keeping safety in mind,” said Nelson. Nelson expressed his gratitude to the City of Lewisville, the Lewisville Police Department and the Lewisville Fire Department for support and assistance while crews worked to get the lights back on. TNMP is a transmission and distribution service provider that delivers power to about 231,000 customers on behalf of 65 retail electric providers in Texas. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of PNM Resources.
